Amanda Durkan Writes is operated by Amanda Durkan.
It publishes fiction, life writing, poetry, novel extracts, newsletters, process notes and related creative work.
Permitted use

You can:

Membership accounts
Some content and features require a free or paid member account.
You are responsible for:
- using an email address you are entitled to access;
- maintaining control of that email account;
- keeping sign-in links and codes private;
- ensuring that your account is not misused.
Accounts are for individual use unless otherwise stated.
Ghost uses passwordless sign-in. Access links or codes are sent to the email address connected with the account.
Membership access can be suspended or ended where reasonably necessary because of:
- fraud;
- unlawful behaviour;
- repeated or serious breaches of these terms;
- harassment or abuse;
- account sharing;
- security concerns;
- payment failure;
- conduct that puts the site or its readers at risk.
Email subscriptions
By subscribing to a newsletter, you request the selected emails.
You can unsubscribe or change your preferences using:
- the links in an email;
- your Ghost member account;
- the contact form.
Unsubscribing from newsletters does not automatically:
- delete your member account;
- cancel a paid subscription;
- remove comments;
- prevent essential authentication, account or payment messages.
Comments
Comments are available to signed-in members. Paid membership is not required.
When commenting, you must not post material that:
- is unlawful;
- contains threats, harassment, or targeted abuse;
- contains hate speech;
- is defamatory;
- discloses another person’s private information;
- infringes copyright or other rights;
- contains spam, scams, or undisclosed advertising;
- contains malicious code or links;
- impersonates another person;
- deliberately disrupts the discussion;
- is unrelated or repeatedly posted after moderation guidance.
Disagreement, criticism, and robust discussion are allowed. Personal abuse is not.
Comments can be moderated, hidden, closed, or removed. A member account can be restricted or closed for repeated or serious misuse.
You retain ownership of the comments you submit. By posting a comment, you grant Amanda Durkan Writes a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and technically process it for operating and presenting the relevant discussion.
Paid subscriptions
The current price, billing interval, and included access are displayed before checkout.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the interval selected during checkout until cancelled.
You can cancel future renewals through your Ghost member account. When cancelled:
- no further renewal payment will be taken;
- access continues until the end of the billing period already paid for;
- paid access then ends unless another eligible paid subscription is active.
One-off tips
The Support my work option allows a voluntary one-off tip.
A tip:
- supports Amanda Durkan Writes;
- does not create a recurring subscription;
- does not create a paid membership;
- does not unlock paid content;
- does not purchase ownership or editorial influence;
- does not constitute a commission;
- does not guarantee future publication or any particular content.
Access to paid content requires an active paid subscription to an eligible membership tier.
Refunds
Refund requests are reviewed individually and in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Use the contact form and select Membership, payment, or refund if you want a payment reviewed.
Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Polls and surveys
Poll participation is optional.
Do not attempt to circumvent limits intended to prevent duplicate submissions or otherwise manipulate poll results.
Polls are intended to gather readers’ views and are not scientific or representative unless expressly stated.
Contact submissions
When using the contact form, provide information that is accurate and relevant to the inquiry.
Do not use the form to submit:
- spam;
- abuse or threats;
- malicious links or files;
- unlawful material;
- unnecessary sensitive personal information;
